Hi. I was born in Montreal in 1959 (yikes). Dogs have been in my life since then. One remarkable thing about dogs is they seem to realize that humans aren't perfect and despite our imperfections they stand loyally by. I aspire to be so kind.
I'm accomplished in a few areas. I have a number of university degrees including a graduate degree. As a result of my schooling I've held some wonderful jobs / careers.
I had the privilege of being invited to open a counselling office on the Kahnawake Reserve outside of Montreal and worked for Health Canada in support of First Nations clients.
I worked writing fitness and dietary programs for up and coming athletes and was trained to treat sport injuries.
After a number of bicycle breakdowns while touring Java and Bali I decided to learn how to fix bicycles. I learned all the necessary information and then worked as a bicycle mechanic for 2 years at Calypso Cycles in Sydney, Australia.
All this to say that when I'm passionate about something I throw myself into it 100%.
In the last 7 years I've been pursuing my passion in regards to dogs. I started with a dog walking service. After 3 years I came to Rural Adventures. I had an attachment to the kennel as my sister started Rural Adventures more than a decade ago. I lived on the property for a time and got to see how it all works. I've owned the business for over 3 years and I have seen some amazing dogs do amazing things. Overall dogs enjoy the property and all the space to run and play.
I believe that actions speak louder than words and so I invite you to visit Rural Adventures and see what we have to offer. I'll be happy to show you around, answer any question, and shoot the breeze about anything 'dog'. Feel free to bring your furry friend. They know a good thing when they see it : )
Thanks for visiting the site. I look forward to meeting you.

Aaron is an awesome young man. When I advertised for a person to assist me in running the kennel I received at least 200 applications. Aaron stood out for many reasons. He is very knowledgeable about dogs and is a natural when it comes to handling them. He has worked the past 4 summers in the pet industry and simply loves animals. He is outgoing, friendly, and very helpful. You can rely on Aaron to assist you with most questions or concerns. If he doesn't have the answer he will direct those concerns to me. What impresses me the most about Aaron is his good heart. At 18 years old he has been to the poorer regions of Mexico twice to volunteer his time to build houses. This is the kind of person I want to help me care for your dog.
Megan has recently joined us here at the farm. Her main responsibilities are to ensure that the dog's sleeping areas are clean as can be. She strives to make your dog's stay here as comfortable as possible. Over the summer Megan will be taking the time to get to know you as she will be working in the office as well. Megan is a natural around dogs!!
Sincerely,
Robin (owner)
